Coronavirus (Covid-19)

Update: 10th May 2021

We’re aware Government are going ahead with easing some more restrictions in England from Monday 17 May. We'll work with the National Youth Agency to confirm how this affects face-to-face Scouting. Updates will be shared via email and on the website in the coming week.

General Notices Regarding COVID-19

The Leadership Team will continue to monitor advice from Gov.uk, NHS and Local authorities regarding COVID-19.

We do not at this time have any plans to cancel sessions but if this does happen all parents/carers will be notified as soon as possible via the usual communication methods.

Any and all information will be available to parents/carers on our website and Facebook group.

All members, leaders and visitors will be reminded and encouraged to wash their hands during session times.

How are we keeping our members, leaders and visitors safe?

At 1st Normanton Scouts we are keeping our members, leaders and visitors safe in a number of ways:

  • Following social distancing guidelines

  • Following guidance from the local authority, the UK Government, The Scout Association and The National Youth Agency

  • 20 minute cleaning on common touch points

  • PPE Provided for leaders/volunteers and for first aid purposes

  • Scouts and Explorers are to wear a face covering indoors (unless exempt)

  • Leaders/volunteers are to wear a face covering indoors unless delivering an activity
